Has anyone ever added listerine to a soap recipe? If so, how did it turn out?

It has alcohol which would make your soap seize. It also has ingredients like poloxamer 407, parabens, Benzoic Acid, Sodium Saccharin or Sodium Benzoate. I would not want that in soap.

Call me strange, but I like the clean smell. I had researched it and it was originally used for sterilization. One post on here said it was used for mosquito repellant. Was just curious.
Thanks so much for the info. Now I know not to use it in a recipe.

Listerine has menthol 0.042%, thymol 0.064%, methyl salicylate 0.06%, and eucalyptol 0.092%.

You can use it for mosquito repellant if you mix half and half listerine and water in a spray bottle. It works in the immediate area for a short amount of time. Don't spray it on yourself though cause it is sticky.

I was not trying to knock you, just was curious why you wanted to try it. Now that I know it is the scent you like, I am sure that you could recreate the scent, or at least get close to it. Why not give it a go? Let us know if you try it!
