Before you started to sell on any of these sites, did they allow you to play around with them to get a feel for how their systems work BEFORE you actually add any items to sell????

It depends what you mean. Signing up on Etsy is free, and you can do all of the "stuff" in your shop (appearance, policies, etc) before you list anything, so I guess you could call that messing around. And I'm pretty sure you can work on your listings and save them as drafts. You don't get charged anything until you publish a listing.

Artfire has a 30 day free trial, but honestly 30 days doesn't give you a true picture. Etsy has internal searches and you have to be a member to shop there. Artfire sellers can sell to anyone on the www. You do need good SEO to be found.

I love Craft Cafe! It's a monthly fee rather than a per listing fee. The site is new so you will have to promote yourself
