I made my first face mask yesterday and tested it last night. Here is the recipe I used
1 oz sea clay
1 oz kaolin clay
1/2 oz jojoba
1/2 oz meadowfoam
1/2 oz green tea extract
2 ml lavender and herb fo
.2 oz phenonip

When I applied it to my arm to test the consistency, everything was great. When I applied it to my face, it "stung" at first but then subsided. I have used all of these ingredients previously except the clays. Could it be those that made it "sting"? It wasn't so intense that I couldn't stand it and in a weird way felt good. Does that make sense? It kinda felt like an astrigent. Any ideas?

That's too much preservative. I calculated 0.017 at 1/2%

Ooohhh. That's why I look younger today! Hehe... Oops. I guess I did my math wrong cause I came up with .17 at .5%. Ok, now that I look at it, I did do my math wrong. I forgot to move the decimal over 2 spots. Ok. Well, that sucks.

I did almost the same thing to a sugar scrub! :oops:

To save it. I added another batch to the first without adding any more preservative.
