If I want to color a bath truffle with a liquid dye, do I add it to the dry ingredients like bath bomb, or to the wet ingredients?

Hi Amber, it depends on what liquid the dye is dissolved in. What formula are you using for your bath truffles? Are they fizzy truffles or truffle melts that are mostly butters/oils?

You need an oil based color, since it's mostly oils and butters. If it's water (or glycerin) based, you're going to have a hard time mixing it.

How about adding oxides/micas to the melted oils?

I've been using a bit of glycerin mixed with my micas or oxides....even when using hard or soft butters (shea, mango, cocoa, avocado), I haven't had a problem!! I also use Laureth-4 or a polysorbate as an emulsifier....I've learned ALOT on this forum!!!
