I am trying to figure out what went wrong with this soap. It is a GM soap. I know I am a little carried away with the air bubbles, but there is a bit of a weird, dry texture to it. I tested it for zap and it was not lye heavy, so I wanderig if there is something that I did wrong.

Image

OO 35%, RB 25%, CO 17%, PKO 10%, Mango 8%, CO 5%. 8%SF
194 grams of water (used at 40% to dissolve lye)
174 grams of GM (added to oils)

129 grams of lye

oops...sorry:

Olive O 35%, Rice Bran 25%, Coconut Oil 17%, Palm Kernel Oil 10%, Mango Butter 8%, Castor Oil 5%. 8%SF
194 grams of water (used at 40% to dissolve lye)
174 grams of GM (added to oils)

129 grams of lye

ETA: did you add any Sodium lactate? - Yes. 2 tsp
If you used mango butter, was it tempered? I melted the Mango butter along with the Coconut and Palm Kernel Flakes in microwave and then added it to my soft oils. How cool did you soap? 105
Are you sure you reached trace? yes. I was able to reached light trace and at that time I split the batch to color it.
Did you any Titanium dioxide to it? yes, only for the cream portion of soap

Titanium Dioxide can give you that crackly look.

Thank you! This is the second time that my soap turns a little weird due to the TD. Is there anything that I can do to help prevent? I also placed it in the fridge to prevent gelling, but it looks like there is some partial gelling to the bars.

Thank you! I am thinking that I may need to place it in the freezer instead of the fridge. I think the wooden mold still made it gel, and I was trying to prevent that. Pretty amazing how warm the milk can get the soap mixture :)

I made a batch the other day replacing all of the water with frozen goats milk. I soaped at roughly 90 degrees and put the wooden mold in the freezer. Even a couple of hours later the bottom of the mold wasn't as cold as it should have been. Saponification generates a lot of heat!

If this batch is for sale, call it "frosted" so that people will know it's not harmful, and will assume it's intentional.
