I am wondering how cool cold process soap can be stored at after it has been removed from the molds. Does it matter what temperature it is stored at? Thanks.

It's best to keep soap away from excessive or direct heat.

I keep mine on racks in our spare bedroom downstairs. It stays about 55 degrees most of the winter. The main thing is to have good air circulation around the soap as it cures - don't stack it together with no space around the bars.

After curing I store mine in shoe boxes & baseball card boxes that I've lined with freezer paper. But they still have about 1/4 inch between each bar & I put holes in the sides of the boxes to let air circulate.

I don't know if this has any bearing but I am going to say it anyway. I was curing my soap on racks in my bedroom. Normal room light not direct sun. I had one batch that had no color and not fragrance. That batch got dreaded orange spots. The others didn't. I will now do all my curing in a darker but well ventalated place like my large walk-in closset.

It is more likely that your loss of fragrance and dos has to do with your oils, recipe, and/or fragrance (could also be the amount of scent used) than with the room you stored it in. As long as you don't leave it in direct sunlight or extreme heat it I have never seen (cp/hp) soap be affected by the elements. I store mine in a former bedroom, changed to soap room, on racks, just as when they are cured. They are slatted and provide air circulation, which is important for curing, and also for storage imho. I load up for shows and may leave the soap packed if I have another show in the near future. In the past 35 years I have only had 1 case of dos but I make sure to keep oils stored properly, keep the air space minimal in storage containers, add vitamin E to new oils, etc.

I had about 10 batches of soap, all the exact same recipe drying at the same time. Only the batch with no fragrance and no color got DOS

Call it gremlins then. Sometimes that happens. Actually nobody knows for sure what causes dos in the first place. But truly, you do not need to cure or store soap in the dark. If you did, my 35 years of soaping would have gone way further south than one batch of dos in that many years!

Tocopherol is typically recommended at 1 tsp to 1 Tbs ppo (in oils that are not high in natural vitamin E).
I do not use ROE, but it is recommended at 0.2 - 0.5 grams per 1000 grams of oil.
Antioxidants cannot reverse oxidation, nor prevent it, only slow it down. So it is important to get them into the oil(s) before oxidation begins. As soon as you get them, in other words.

Am I going to have issues????? I'm currently wrapping, labelling and packing boxes of soap for the festival I'm doing May 8-12. I have the boxes open but packed many layers deep with soaps.

I have about 5500 of which about 3800 are wrapped, labelled, and in the packing boxes.
