Teach Soap

For the artistic soapmakers out there....

I made a 1lb batch specifically for soap curls. (Kinda like large chocolate curles, only soap insteard).

I curled a bit of soap this morning. it was prtty soft, and I had to roll them by hand.
So I thought I would ask the experts.


is it better to culr the soap while it's a bit soft, or later when the soap becomes harder?

I wait til the soap is harder.

And I do mine when it is softer Does that help? Seriously though, it depends what I am wanting to do with it. If I want to do like the picture, then I do it soft and roll it so I get a more compact and nicer look. If I want it more free form, then I allow it to get harder and just flake it away. I think this is one of those things where you just have to experiment and see what you like best.

I think I'll do a bit at the time as the soap hardens, and see what result I like best.
