Should've cut it before the last post. I guess soon as I got it out, I wanted to share the results.

The dark layer in the first photo appears again in the rounds. I kind of expected the top of the soap to be darker than the bottom, but instead, the outer layer from top to bottom is darker than the inner layer. That leads me to deduce that the part hat cools the fastest gets dark, and the rest does not. What surprised me (with that in mind) is how well defined the line is. It seems if temperature is an issue, it would be much more gradual than it is.

Hehehe...maybe I can give it to friends, and tell them I practiced pretty d*mned hard to get the effect of looking like a freshly-sawed piece of wood.
