Coconut oil. She butter. Teatree oil dragons blood fo. ?

You will need an accurate digital scale.

I would also purchase a thermometer. I have an Infrared one that I picked up at the local hardware store.

I would say don't go too crazy with the supplies. Especially since you in the beggining one starts with small soap batches. I bought everything on site at the beginning and then slowly started to realise that I was not ready for much of it. I am finally starting to use my larger molds and bigger mixing containers.

Well that's all I'm getting except the thermometer . I will be starting with basic olive oil, Castor oil, coconut oil, shea butter soaps 1 lb soaps at first

Ok. Will try to change my recipes to grams. Looks like I won't be getting q crock pot or fancy silicone mold but that's ok I'm just learning I'm sure I will live without starting HP right away and not having fancey shaped bars . Its still going to be so much fun.

It is a lot of fun Gabrielle! You don't really need "fancy" molds and expensive things. I still use empty drink containers (the kind that hold packets like crystalite) for making guest soaps, and I have been soaping for a lot of years! Sure, I have regular molds, but I like the size and shape of these containers, plus I drink a lot of peach tea so I have several containers at any given time. I cut them open to unmold, so I trash them after one use, but it is a nice form of recycling. Many containers work great for soap, so keep your eyes open! Also, you can pick up silicone molds on sale on amazon all the time. I just ordered some pretty flowers for 2.99$ that are about 3.5 oz. each cavity. So, as I said, just keep your eyes open and enjoy the journey!

Yay got the stuff my bf got me. A stick blender, tea tree oil and shea butter.
And of course I have my scale.
I'm on my way slow and steady.

Tonight I got my safety goggles , I am one step closer to makeing my first batch of soap I am very excited. Just need to find some gloves and a themometer and a few other things

I got a laser thermometer at Harbour Freight at a great price. Lots easier to deal with then the old fashioned ones.

I use the blue nitrile gloves that you can get in the cleaning section at walmart. They're inexpensive and (for me) easier to use than the bulkier cleaning gloves.

Thank you both I will look into those. I was gonna check my doller tree for gloves but Ill check walmart if they dont have them. On the site buddy suggested for the therm they also have a pair of reusable gloves that have resistant coating on the figers or what not for just over a doller , I will see , shipping is more then the items I woud be getting and I always feel thats crazy but we shall see what I can find locally first then go from there. Im getting so excited , Im trying to keep it down to a few base oils lol olive , castor , coconut and shea butter but Im very tempted to get some avocado oil and cocoa butter as me and my son both have sensitive skin. Its so hard lol there are so many wonderfull fragrances and colorents and things on brambleberry

Just stick with the basics oils right now. Soap is a wash off product and some of the other oils are best used for lotions, etc.
