Teach Soap

Hi guys. I know that to a certain extent cure time depends on the recipe you used (i.e., Castile = long cure, like 8 months I think), but I know the classic cure time referenced is 4-6 weeks.

How long do you usually wait. Do you always tend to wait 4, or is it somehow smarter to always just wait 6 weeks b/c the extra cure time can only help? I'm tempted to just do 5 weeks to split the difference.....Advice?

I wait at least 4 weeks. I f I can wait longer, so much the better.

5 to 6 weeks for me

My regular recipes are 4 weeks at least.
My coconut salt bars are 3 months.
My castile soaps are at least 3 months, but I shoot for at least 6.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I am glad I found this . I was thinking extra time for high olive oil soaps was like 8 weeks not sevral months. Back to learning more

Thanks guys! I think what I will do is wait 5-6 weeks and then give them a shot. (so far anything I have made would be considered a "regular" recipe with no "high" olive oil content, so I think this is a fair amount of time for curing)
