SAP VALUE SUBSTITUTION QUESTION

Post subject: SAP VALUE SUBSTITUTION QUESTION

BB lye calc no longer list mowrah butter in its list, but I still use it in certain soaps. My problem is that since its no longer listed there, I don't know what butter is similar in its SAP value to calculate in my soap recipes. I've done some googling, but I haven't been able to find an answer to my question. Anyone (Soap Buddy??

) know the answer to this one?

Mowrah has a SAP value of .138. If you look up SAP values of other oils and find one that's similar (or same) you can sub it for that.

You can use the SAP value for palm kernel oil for palm kernel flakes.

Thank you. I don't look for name brands like that. I guess I am just used to the way that BB lists theirs, which to me, makes more sense. But I still find this lye calc confusing for me. I guess I will have to google to see if there is another simple one like BB out there somewhere.
