Hello,
I just bought a new digital kitchen scale ("Taylor" brand). In the manual, it says that the liquid feature is suitable for all water based liquids but that OILS "have a significantly lower specific gravity and would give a reading of approx. +10%." So, my my questions is, do you adjust your recipe for this when soap making or is it not really an issue? If it matters, I am measuring in ounces.

I would pass on the liquid feature and just use regular ounces or grams. When you measure the oils (and fragrance oils, etc.) you are using a weight measurement. Even water is measured by weight for accuracy.
