Hi
I have a big bottle of glycerine that iI purchase to do soap but I'm a scary cat and got discourage at the mention LYE .Yes the word is scary for me you need to much protection. So any help in what to do whit it ?

Most soapers don't usually add glycerine to their soaps. Unless they are doing liquid soaps or making Melt and Pour from scratch.

But, glycerine can be nice in lotions & creams.

You don't need glycerin for soap. Cold process makes its own and Melt N' Pour already has it added to the base. If you are talking about glycerin soap, that's Melt N' Pour.

I use glycerin to mix my colorants with before adding to my melt & pour soap. It makes it easier to mix in thoroughly because it suspends the powdered colorant. Someone here recommended that trick and I've been using it ever since!

i have to admit that i purchase de glycérine to do glycérine soap but after i réalise that it does work like that.

I add a small amount of glycerin in my shaving soap recipe. Too much will dampen your lather though. It is great for mixing colorants. If you get to making liquid soap, you can replace the initial water, wholly or partially, with glycerin. Happy soaping!
