Teach Soap

So I made my Bonsai scented batch about 3 weeks ago and the white part of my soap discolored. I used a very simple recipe that I have used many, many times and there were no extra additives besides color and the fragrance. Everywhere I have read I didn't see anyone having problems with discoloration but here it is. It's turning pink. i have other bars were the discoloration is right next to the green and you can tell clear as day that it's pink. Also I did not gel this. Has anyone else used Bonsai and what were your results?

Is the discoloration mostly next to the colored area? That's what it looks like from the pic.
I've used Bonsai, but that was in uncolored batches & have never had discoloration, except once when they were left by a sunny window, that seemed to turn the soap a pinkish orange. So, I'm assuming light might affect the fo.

But anyways, back to what I was going to say about the colorant LOL. It's most likely a reaction between the colorant & the fo. That happens sometimes and unfortunately is something that's hard to predict unless someone else has tested it with the same colorants. Which is unlikely given the huge amount of colorants out there.

The only time I had a batch turn pink by itself was when I used coconut oil. Otherwise I don't know.

I did use coconut oil in the recipe but only at 20% so I'm not sure. I'm making mire soap this weekend with the same recipe. Maybe I'll pour a little off to the side and test it and see what happens. Thanks!

I used bonsai a couple times and I don't see any discoloration, even after a year! But I did get ash, very annoying.

You did use deionised or distilled or RO water, and not tap water, right?
