Good morning all;

Does anyone know if any of the antioxidant properties would remain after saponification if I were to make soap with Green Tea Extract? It seems like it would just get “cooked off” and not retain any benefits.

I honestly don't know if any antioxidant benefits survive or how you'd go about testing for it. But I do know that green tea + lye = greenish/brown soap.

You could always HP it & then add it after the cook.

I can't honestly see the point of including green tea extract in a rinse-off product.

You can add it for label appeal, but I doubt it would survive the high pH of lye.
