I love burning tart melts that I buy from others. I do eventually want to make my own, but not right now.

I have bought some from Scentsy which are lovely and another candlemaker that I will not name for privacy issues, theirs burn beautifully and eventually get used up in a few days.

I currently am burning a vanilla scented one (bought at a local craft fair) that does not seem to dissipate, its been burning now for a few weeks. The scent is gone, but the wax is still sitting in the burning. Wrong kind of wax??? I keep adding my own stash of fragrance oils to it, to experiment with different scents. I suppose I should just throw away the wax. But I am curious in these burn times for tart melts.

To make a long story short, what kind of wax dissipates in warmers?

It might be paraffin. Soy wax, palm wax or a soy blend melts the best in warmers. I would throw the vanilla one away.

Yeah, definitely don't add any more scent to the wax. The wax can only hold so much fragrance.
Also, what do you mean by "The scent is gone, but the wax is still sitting in the burning"

When you're using tarts in a tart burner, the wax should never disappear. All you're doing is melting it to release the fragrance, which is not the same as burning when using a candle.

I thought the wax was suppose to evaporate like a regular candle. So once the fragrance is gone, I should just throw the remaining wax away?

I'm a newbie with all of this, but love the idea of a wickless candle for safety.

Thanks Soapbuddy. In the garbage or can I compost in anyway??? Its 100% soy wax with Fragrance oils.

Not looking good from an enviornment factor.
