Teach Soap

I am attaching some photo's taken today of soap that I made back in May 2011 fragranced with Vanilla from BB and Sandalwood in two layers. The photos of the smaller slivers were taken from the ends of each loaf and then cut in half. A few months back I placed some of those slivers in a little dish and sat it on the window sill in the bathroom. You will note that the slivers which have been exposed to both light and sun are now nearly white where as the whole bar which has been stored in a shoe box is a lot darker. You will probably also note that the whole bar looks to have a partial gel and a bit darker in the middle than on the outside. So now I am wondering if in fact light and sun make actually make vanilla whiten with time. Any thoughts/idea's ?

Will add the photo of the whole bar to another message as it appears that three attachments is the maxumum.

Interesting! Did you add some titanium dioxide to the light color layer?

The reason why I was wondering is because my Magnolia soap has an almost exact crackle finish like your lighter layer. I use TD in that one and it gels.
