Teach Soap

Hi All,



I have just attemted my 1st Hot Process liquid soap,and after following the recipe and cooking &stirring for 4-5 hours, the soap was creamy, looked good, but the tongue test still yielded a sharp sting. in addition, when testing the soap in boiling water, the solution turned cloudy, so it was not yet ready for use, according to all sources. I had to continue cooking the soap. however, as it was already late, I turned the slowcooker off and went to bed. This morning the soap looks and feels like custard which has been placed in the fridge and is now set. How can I save the batch? Thanks.

I would about a half a cup of distilled water and turn it back on, once it heats back up it should be fine and just keep cooking. I live in Florida and it takes me an average of 8 hours to cook my soap in a crock at 160.

I did add moredistilled water the next day and let it cook for a couple more hours. after i let it cool down, the mixture is no longer creamy throughout, but only a bit tacky cream on the top of the surface. Below the surface is what i think is the desiredoutcome, viz, a translucent brown mixture not too thick or thin, and thankfully no 9v kick tothe tonque. I had to scrape the creamy top off, as i am not sure why that part of the mixture did not combine with the rest toproduce the soap.
