Hi! Newbie here. I was wondering if a rebatch if its normal for it to look like on top like crunchy bread but on the bottom if I move the mold like I did to place it somewhere where no one will touch or put there fingers on it. Regardless of countless warning of not touching it to grown ups of 23 years and 63 years. Should I toss this batch. It was my very 1st batch.
I am becoming afraid that my second batch is following the same path as the first. The first one continue on to feel like gel the 3 days with no signs of becoming hard but unlike this one if I move the mold is does not shift it stays put but feels squeeshy on the bottom. I did this one last night.
Here is the recipe that I used for my 12 ounces soap.
1.93oz Coconut Oil
10.13 oz Olive Oil
1.62 Lye
1.89 oz Water
0.33 Nag Champa fragrance( I love castile soap but can not stand the olive oil scent
)
I mixed the lye about 100 to 105 and the oils about 98 to 100. I stirred until I got like a pudding mixture and began to see some traces on top of my soap base. Like I pass and get out the whisk of the mixture and see a star shape like the bottom of my whisk. I poured down to a wax paper lined milk cartoon. It was still warm when I pourred into the mold well that was the temperature I felt out of the mold when I poured.That was done around 1:40 am and was already gel up and insulated by 12:00pm. Now 8 hours later is still with a gel like texture and cold with some sudoration or like a brief oil mist. You know like the ones that you spray on something that is solid. Should I wait for this one another 24 hours or put it in a place with good ventilation and remove the plastic wrap from it? Or what do I do for it in order to make it harder.
FYI I used the Sage Calculator and resized from this recipe found on this website . And I stir with a hand mixer for almost 2 hours and half. I am trying my best to find a stick mixer but dang it I guess they are in demand right now because I am having trouble finding it or they do not sale it.
Sorry for asking too much. Oh I tried to read everything I could for these two batches but I am afraid that there is always questions until is gone through.
