Hello,
First I would like to say how much I appreciate this forum. It is impressive how many soapers there are out there, willing to share their knowledge so freely. I've almost put my eyes out reading, and want to THANK YOU ALL!. This obviously is an exceptional group of people, not to mention the way in which this forum is managed. I've never been to a forum before and never found one cross word, just friendly, helpful like-minded people.
By way of introduction, I am Barbara Lewis. I live on a farm in Arkansas, where I have bred Egyptian Arabian horses for over 20 years. I am also an artist, mainly a sculptor.
Quite a few years ago, I started dabbling in making soap loafs. I loved it. They were sold at a local shop, and sold quite well. Eventually the shop closed, and I put the soap supplies away.
During my time away from it, my husband brought me a soap rock back from a trip. I was facinated, and kept thinking about how these could be created, and kept that soap for inspiration. I still have it today. Like many of you, I would sit and create these soaps in my head, and although it took me years to get down to doing it, I never got them out of my mind.
A little over a year ago, I bit the bullet and began. I call my business "Oasis Soap Company" and have a website at
www.oasissoap.com.
