Hi everyone, thanks for letting me join the forum.
I just wanted to stop by & say hi & thanks. I'm a complete soap making novice & my venture into soap making started with me pondering on what I could do with a surplus of fresh goats milk. I googled "soap making" & there began my learning.
I spent several weeks just reading this forum, trying to make sense of words like "saponification", "trace" & "gel", before finally getting up enough courage to have a go at making my first batch. I followed the recommendations of more experienced forum members & kept it simple, making a basic all vegetable soap. Amazingly it went like clockwork, doing everying I had read it was supposed to do, & it's now nearly 4 weeks old & curing nicely.
Then I went back to reading & learning before getting brave enough to try a goats milk batch. Admittedly it was probably a bit ambitious for only my 2nd attempt, but once again it seems to have turned out ok.
Earlier posts on making goats milk soap by experienced soapers, like Soapbuddy & Knine, proved invaluable to me & I just wanted to say thanks.
Anyway, here's a pic of soap from my first 2 batches, the blue one is my first batch of basic vegetable soap (coconut fragrance) & the white one on the right is my goats milk batch (unscented).
