Teach Soap

I love the eyeball soap that you made and got my sphere mold and supplies yesterday from BB. I tried to make some this afternoon, but I'm only getting half an eye. The white MP was overflowing sideways instead of going up. (If that makes any sense) What am I doing wrong?

Don't have any suggestions for you, but I had the same problem, too. Couldn't outsmart my sphere mold either. I used heavy-duty rubber bands to hold the mold together, used an injector to fill the molds, and the soap still leaked sideways. It seemed the soap went everywhere except where I wanted it to! I'd try to fill one sphere and the one next to it would start to fill, and very few of the spheres would fill all the way before the soap started leaking out the sides.

I thought about making half-spheres, popping them out and pouring more soap into the bottom mold, and then setting the finished half-spheres on top of the hot, just-poured spheres to see if they'd adhere to each other to make a complete sphere.

Anyway, I'm wondering what I did wrong, too, and would appreciate any tips!

jrose, I had double posted this question here (welcome) by accident and posted it again in the Melt and Pour section. Check out the post there. Redfishingirl had some pics , as well as step by step instructions. My eyeballs came out perfectly round this time. One thing though, when you take the sphere mold out of the freezer, be very gentle with it when taking your eyes out. I pulled the sides apart a little too hard and my mold cracked Good luck

I saw the double post in the M&P section, too, after responding here. Thanks for pointing me in that direction, though. I saw Redfishingirl's photos and tutorial. It sure was nice of her to do that, because it sounds like it helped. I haven't tried her method yet, but I'm glad to hear that it worked for you. I'll have to try it soon.
