Hiya,

I am kinda new to making soap, well i have made several batchs in the past, but it has been years. What I thought I knew about soap was completely blown away by all the info on this site, so now I am back to being a soap n00bie, lol. (yeah I thought ever batch started off with plane white soap and gets handmilled into other soaps :shock: )

I am a sahm and looking forward to making loads of soap. I am kinda nervous about making my own recipe and learning lye calculations, I thought I must get books and stick to their recipes. I do have 1 book, The Complete Soapmaker, and I read it wasnt the greatest book.

Welcome! I recommend the book "The Soapmaker's Companion" by Susan Miller Cavitch. A really good book with good advice, ( although I only use Grapefruit seed extract for Hemp soap.) a good reference book too.
