Hey guys! I am from Singapore.

In my country, sodium hydroxide is a controlled chemical that cannot be purchased without a permit. I am interested in making cold process soaps but I guess I am unable to do it the CP way, I do however, have some soap noodles and was wondering if the soap would work out the same way if I melted the soap noodles and added in my other ingredients.

I have absolutely zero experience with soaping, but would like to take up this hobby. So any advise is greatly appreciated.

You can make soap out of soap noodles, but it will look more like a rebatch.

Rebatch tends to look more rustic than CP. You won't be able to get fine swirls, or special swirls like the hanger swirl. You can do swirls still, but not super fine ones. And you can do layers! MUCH easier to get nice layers with HP/rebatch :mrgreen:

Goggle rebatch soap and look at the pictures. That will give you a better idea what the soap looks like.

Soap is made of a salt and fatty acid, soap is mainly used for washing, bathing, cleaning purpose and it can be made of sodium hydroxide, but if you ask me about soap noodle than really I am sorry i don't much about that.

I read some place about making your own lye. Might be more than you care to do but it is possible. Google home made lye.
