Hi to you all. I am a new forum member making melt and pour soap in the Blue Ridge Mountain area of Virginia.

I am wondering if any of you have experienced this issue and how you are solving it.

I do craft shows in the area and when it is humid, my melt and pour soap starts to sweat in my outside booth displays. It gets gummy feel to it that is not very helpful to sales.

Any ideas how I can prevent this in the future?

Thanks,
Windy Hill

Try shrink wrapping as soon as the soap is done. Leave only a few on the table and keep the rest in a cooler under the table maybe. You could also try the low sweat MP base that BrambleBerry carries.

Wendyhill:

I have successfully used the low sweat Melt and Pour base from Bramble Berry in my humid areas. My soaps turned out really well. My next try will be to incorporate some regular other bases into this to see if the "dew" forms afterwards. Wrapping right away always works for me and you can still smell the great fragrances through the wrapping.

In order to make a more rustic looking soap, try some rebatching from Bramble Berry. They have some nice recipes and this base is shredded processed soap that does not have as much glycerin in it so the "dew" seems like it wouldn't be a problem

Best of luck! :)
