I don't think my soap has ever overheated?? But, just wondering what it would look like if it did overheat? And, about how long do you leave your's in the oven, and at what temp.?
So far, you are the only person I've come across who does the CPOP like this! I've read about 4-5 different instructions and it's either lots of stirring on the stove top, or something about in the oven, but taking it in & out of the oven and more stirring stuff??? Joanne - Cliff Island Soapworks

Well, I've never had any oil/lye separations, or cracks, but I do think it's a very good idea to only go to gel stage and remove from oven after 1 hr. at 180 degrees. Besides, my pine log molds were getting a bit charded around the bottom!! :? Maybe that's why the glued corners gave way :?:
