Hello there,
I have made a few batches of goats milk and cows milk soap. I would like to know can I use tea tree oil as I would any other essential oil? and how much do you need to use to get actual scent, say of lavender ofr any scent? Also, has any used coffee in their soap, is it supposed to take away odors?
Thanks for the help!
Darcy

For tea tree oil I would use 0.5 oz, per lb. of oils. Always weigh your ingredients. You'll be more accurate that way and get the same results each and every time. I use 0.7 of Lavender oil per lb. of oils/butters. Coffee helps to remove odors. You can use it as part or all of your liquid amount required for your lye water. Make sure that the coffee is VERY cold. It will stink in the beginning, but that should go away as the soap cures. Keep your pitcher in your sink to make sure that the coffee liquid and lye don't overflow.
