Teach Soap

Let me introduce my self..my name is Claudia and I got interested in soap making a few weeks ago when I came across some sites selling soaps.I'm in awe at the work people do.
I have been roaming around the internet and reading everything I can about this subject.
I have been looking for a new hobby for some time now.
I design Poser Tubes, websets, Sigs and more and work with scripts and quiet frankly..I'm riding burn out.
A year ago I closed my Graphics membership site..Just ran out of steam. I hope to learn soap making and will need lots of input.This site looks like a good place to get it.People seem nice from what I see here.

She is 11 month.. always has dry skin,she also cant use any Johnson & Johnson products.
Baby Powder gives her diaper rash..her mother and I are at wits end..

That's true. I used cornstarch on my kids' bottoms when they wore diapers. My pediatrician recommended it.

Welcome to the forum and to the addiction that is soap making!!
Baby powder really isnt necessary, and can cause lung issues if it is breathed in, so many Dr's these days do not even advocate using it at all. So no real loss there. But, if Mom feels a strong need for a powder, please exercise a bit of caution with the cornstarch, as it has led to some baby girls getting yeast infections. Just keep a good eye out for signs and symptoms, and get medical treatment if you see any. Many can use it without any difficulty, so don't over worry about it, just be vigilant. It could be the fragrances that the baby is allergic too, or other chemicals, but I agree with SB, castille soap is very mild and a good choice. I would try to get one that is mostly olive oil, as today a lot of people call mixed oils by the name of castille. I made my Grandson some goats' milk soap, out of mostly olive oil, and, other than it taking forever to trace, it was great! Good luck in your search and, again, welcome!
