Hi!
I tried to play with colors in my first MP experiment. I used Fuchsia MP Color for the upper part and I wanted a white and peeling bottom part so I used white clay. I poured the clay directly into the melted clear base but it made tiny clumps. Should have I dissolved the clay in some water first?
Also, I wondered how a overheated base looks like: does it boils? I ask because while melting the base I noticed that part of it was melt and making bubbles, whereas other parts were still solid. So I kept on until they were melt too, stirring at times. Did I overheat it?
While stirring the base, is there any trick to avoid bubbles and foam?

What did you heat the MP base in? Mine doesn't get bubbles. Dissolve the clay in a small portion of glycerin, mix really well, then add. That way you'll avoid the clumps.

I used a pyrex container, put into the microwave at medium heat for 20'', then I stirred the base, then I heated 20'' more, I stirred again and so on, until the base was clear and fully melted (but full of micro bubbles).
About the white clay: is there any alternative to glycerin?

Maybe you stirred it too much? Clay really works the best in glycerin. Can I ask why you don't want to use it? MP base is made with glycerin. Did you spritz the base with alcohol after it was melted?

Next time I'll try to stir less. Is it ok to use a whisk or a spoon would be better?
I don't have anything against the use of glycerine, but where I live it's a little tricky to find it pure, unless you buy it at the pharmacy (but prices are high and last time I asked they told me they would order it only for a large purchase). Do you think that I could use a little part of the spare base to dissolve the clay, even if the base it's not made only from glycerine?

Oh and yes, I sprizted it with the same alcohol I use for little medications. Part of the bubbles dissolved, but not all.
