Teach Soap

So I found a m&p recipe using earl grey tea; out of the bag, not brewed.
It seems simple and fragrant. Is it good to go, or too good to be true?

That brings me to another question:
How do I know if a recipe or blog is up to par with proper procedures and knowledge?
Can you guys recommend good blogs or sites, other than soap queen and teach soap?

MP has some water content. I would be leery of it growing mold. Your best bet is to just ask here.

I've used ground chamomile tea in MP soap - it's not much different than adding oatmeal. But, I did find the tea to be scratchy and it didn't really add any scent.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

Try putting the dry tea leaves in a grinder or blender. Blend until you have a nice fine powder. Not so scratchy and maybe use a tea scented FO or tea infused oil. A little of the tea powder goes a long way. I have to say I haven't used the tea powder in melt and pour or soap. But I have used in creams and oil based balms.
