I did a fair and charged tax 'cause I was told you have to by a friend but when I just went to set up online, there is no spot for charging tax so how do I include that? I'm trying to set up a Zibbet.com page. Now when it comes to wholesale someone said I don't charge tax... how does that make sense?

You don't charge tax on wholesale if who you are selling to fills out a tax exempt certificate for your state with you. And that still only applies to people in your own state, as of right now you don't charge sales tax on sales in other states. Not sure how zibbet works, but most places you can set up a store have a place you can set up sales tax for people who purchase within your state.

When you sell wholesale you don't charge tax because the buyer will be collecting sales tax when they sell the soap. You should get a copy of their "Certificate of Registration Sales & Use" that is issued by your state's Dept. of Revenue to keep in your file in case you are ever audited. This will show why you didn't charge sales tax on the order(s).

I used Godaddy and their shopping cart feature has a section for sales tax. It allows you to determine which states and sales you are going to charge sales tax. So far been pretty easy to set up.

Thanks guys! So when you do a faire do you charge tax as well? I got some funny looks when I gave a girl her change like she didn't expect tax but I tried to spell it all out for her and give her a reciept with tax seperate and everything so I wasn't sure what went wrong there. Maybe she was just odd.

Tax in my products that I sell in shows is included. Tax on my web site is for Cali residents. I'm not sure what I will do once all taxes from all states must be included. I have no idea on how to program that into my web site.
