Do you normally use vanilla stabilizer in your M&P for FO's that have vanillin in them or just let it be?

Since even when using vanilla stabilizer the soaps will usually eventually turn brown or at least tannish, I've learned to work with the color change. Saves me money and saves my sanity, or what's left of it anyways.

I test new vanillin fragrances with and without vanilla stabilizer to see what it does over a period of time in MP; sometimes the results with stabilizer are quite surprising (some of them are better without the stabilizer).

I also try to work with it, as Genny says. Unfortunately, vanilla stabilizer only works for a limited period of time.

Vanilla color stabilizer (VCS) will just slow down the process of your soap turning brown but it won't stop it from happening eventually. So depending on the FO you use, the higher the vanillin content, the faster and darker your soap will turn brown. Anything over 1-2% if I remember correctly will brown faster.

Since you are making your soaps fresh for this weekend's event, you should be okay because it usually takes several weeks for soaps to brown especially with your vanillin content of 0.5% and if you use VCS.
