Hello Everyone,

I've been trying to decide what molds to purchase next. I want molds with more detail than just plain silicone molds in cute shapes. With all the molds out there how do yall decide which molds to get? Part of me wishes there was a way to swap or even rent molds!

Also, I'm really interested in trying the soapsicles. Are the most common molds the ones that make 10 pops? I've been trying to figure out how people make soapsicles with embeds by using this style mold, but I've yet to find a tutorial/video that explains this. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
Tara

For MP, I get molds from the dollar store (decorative ice cube molds), from the craft store like Michael's or Joanns they have their candy molds, some of which have nice details.
There are some places online where you can used molds for cheap. Like here http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/280232832083663/
You could see if there's anyone that has any to trade on here even. I'd offer to, but I just sold all my decorative ones on Craigslist.
Brambleberry has a nice selection of detailed molds as does Flexible Molds. (Those are my 2 favorite mold suppliers).

As for the soapsicles, some people use specific molds that come apart for those. I've always just used some inexpensive ones I found at a Dollar Store.
As for doing embeds in them, it would be just like doing embeds for any other molds.
Here's one from GoPlanetEarth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAx6fxoM ... ature=plcp

I pick stuff out that I like and find attractive, as well as looking at Etsy and sites like it to see what's popular. Many of molds have come from BrambleBerry, Milky Way Molds (directly, although BB does carry a good selection of their molds), Amazon (plastic chocolate molds and silicone baking molds), and eBay and Etsy (for extraordinarily detailed and unique silicone molds). As for the soapsicles with embeds you often see, check out Wholesale Supplies Plus, as they have a silicone version that will save yourself from a lot of pain when unmolding. I used normal popsicle molds for those for a year before finding the silicone, and my fingers thank me for it. For smaller soapsicles, cheap molds from the dollar store or other places work well.

Link for the WSP mold-

has a bunch of tutorials, written and video, for layers and embeds. Just type 'embed' in the search box on the page.

Thanks for the responses! I'm going to have to take some time and really browse Brambleberry and other sites to try and figure out what types of molds I'd be interested in. So far I have the 12 bar silicone mold from BB which I love, but it isn't decorative. I also bought some fun candy molds off of Amazon, but they're really small so I plan to use them for embeds. I'm also looking into getting some cookie cutters as well to use.

In regards to the soapsicles with the embeds, I believe Soapylove has made them with grass and clouds embedded inside so the soapsicles look like a beautiful outdoors scene. I don't get how she did it this way! If I were embedding random scrap pieces of soap I can understand how to do it, but I don't get how to strategically place them so that they look like an outdoorsy scene. I will see if I can find a pic to help explain what I'm referring to.
