[quote="eodfamily"]Thank you, Connie.
The dog food containers are smaller octagonal shapes. I found octagonal molds on BB and different places but their more rectangular. You know how it is, you find something you like you wanna stick with it. LOL! I'll put the husband to playing with some of the ideas we got off youtube and see what we come up with! [quote="eodfamily"]Has anyone tried to make their own silicone molds?
Are they plastic containers (or something with some give)? If that's the case, tell your husband to buy some casting resin - the quick-dry kind. I use Smooth-Cast 320 from Smooth-On, but any plastic resin will do. Make sure the container is clean and dry and mix enough resin to fill it. The resins are generally two parts - one base and one catalyst.
Once the resin sets up in the food container (the stuff I use takes 10 minutes), you can pop it out or peel away the container and have a plastic replica (will last forever) of the shape. You can sand the edges if you want to get them smooth. Use that to make a silicone putty mold, or the more expensive liquid silicone mold, if you prefer.
