Live and learn.
So, after weeks of trying to get my Hunger Games soap right for my granddaughter's middle school graduation (tomorrow), i have given up. Mold I made using the "official" Hunger Games brooch wasn't thick/big enough to get the detail I wanted and couldn't find a bigger original to make a new mold. Never found the beveled, round mold I wanted, but figured out how to jerry-rig one to get the rim I wanted using metal spacer disks (a plumbing part) from the hardware store. Then tried the image on water soluble paper -- I wanted the gold image on black soap. Wound up having to do it on a white soap background to make it pop enough, but I don't like it much (used a 3 inch square silicone mold). If I had sculpting skills (not even close), I might have had some luck, but knew not to even go there.
I love when I try something over and over again. I'm a dog-on-a-bone when it comes to projects like these. I also love that I know when to give up
