Teach Soap

I am new to m&p and decided to make my neice and nephew a creamcicle ice pop soap. Well how the heck do you get them out? Should I put them in the frig or freezer?

Hi, flavapor! Getting MP soap out of the mold can be tricky sometimes. How long did you let the soap cool before you tried to unmold it? I usually let my soap sit in the mold overnight before removing it. Use your fingertips to gently pull the side of the mold away from the soap - that should break the air seal and make it easier to push or wiggle it out.

If you are still having trouble removing the soap from the mold, you can pop it in the freezer for a few minutes, maybe 10-15 minutes or a little more if it needs it. The soap will shrink up enough that you should be able to remove it then.

Hi flavapor! I tried this out this weekend too, tried two different ways that I had seen or read about. First time i tried inserting a dinner knife down the side, that didn't work at all for me. It looked pitiful when I finally got it out. Second try, boiled some water in a pan, remove from heat and dipped mold into hot water for just a few seconds, i pulled the sides away from the sides before i dipped it, it poped right out! Much easier! HTH

You can also try freezing the soap briefly. The soap shrinks when it gets cold and pulls away from the mold. Of course, then you might get glycerin due from condensation - so you should wrap them immediately.

What mold do you have? I push mine out from the bottom. Imagine a super big needle you have to use two hands with. Pointer fingers on the top, thumbs on the bottom and push/squeeze as if you were trying to 'inject' the soapsicle out.
