Teach Soap

I'm so excited and can't wait to get started tomorrow. I've been making candles for about 3 yrs. now and have been wanting to try soap and finally got the nerves up so and tips and tricks would we greatly welcomed. I got goats milk base with oatmeal milk and honey FO. Didn't get color b/c I am going for the natural look. I want to put in some actually oatmeal and honey is that normal to add this in being I already got that FO to add?

Congrats on your supplies! You can add honey, but no more then 1 tsp. per lb. of base. You don't want the soap sticky or soft. I don't use oatmeal in MP base, but I'm sure someone else will come along and tell you.

Exciting isn't it? I got my first order last week and was so excited.

You can use oatmeal, but don't add it until the soap starts thickening again or it won't disperse evenly. You can leave it as whole oats or grind it in a coffee grinder or food processor- up to you. The same goes with how much to add - start with about 1 Tbsp per pound of soap and add more if you want. Have fun!
