I'm still new to the soapmaking world - I'm just two months in....and of course, I am addicted. So I went to a new Hobby Lobby store opening nearby to check out their "soap section" so I could hopefully feed the addiction until I get my new BB order.

I couldn't leave empty handed because I was dying to get my hands on some *practice* soap....came home, started working on some new techniques I wanted to try, and long story short....I am wishing I had just waited for the BB order LOL. This "soap" probably should be buried in the middle of a remote desert so that no one (me!) will ever be tempted again.

LOL! I see you're in Palm Springs....I grew up not too far from there, off the 10 in Montclair.....so I'd never think of it! Now I might think about burying it here in the Victor desert before we move to Utah :D

I'm getting a little teary-eyed because I've been a Cali girl all my life- but I think it'll be good for us. I've never really considered the Victor Valley as "home"....so just have to move on.

Hi Stacey! I know what you mean about the craft store bases -AWFUL!!!! I do mostly CP now, but will never buy my MP base from anyone other than BB.

Most craft store bases are pretty yucky in how they feel. But the suspension ones work really good if you're making something that you need to look wonderful. They harden up super well. Or atleast the ones at our Michaels do anyway.

I've never been happy with any MP bases I've bought that were not from BB, honestly. Craft store bases are also usually redonk overpriced.

never mixed a liquid (neon Color) while making solid sugar scrubs. thankfully I only did a small batch of them. but will know to put the powder neon instead of the already mixed kind. thought I'd share

So I was at Craft Warehouse the other day and I thought, Hm, let's go check the soap supplies section... ALL 12" of it! lol

You know how much they wanted for 2 lbs of clear soap base? $35.00. :lol:
