Does anyone make their own mp base from scratch and would it be the same or close to making hp soap? Thanks.

I have done it. It cannot be remelted more then once unlike regular MP base. It doesn't come out clear either. It's more like an amber color.

Thanks I figured someone must make it. I would rather buy it when needed from BB but still curious how it is made.

I have this book: . It has lots of recipes on making M&P from scratch. I agree with the others; it seems like a lot of extra work, but it's nice to have as an option.
