Hi Everyone,

I like to sprinkle mica between two layers to create that line effect. Every time I do it, I have trouble getting the top layer to stick & not separate from the layer with the mica on it underneath. I end up wiping most of the mica off, spritzing with alcohol again, remelting the top layer and re-pouring.

Is there a trick to this that I'm missing?

Thank you,
einnoc

When are you putting the mica on? And when are you spraying with alcohol?
I've done the mica layer by doing my first layer & letting it set up. Then right before I'm ready to pour my 2nd layer, I spray alcohol on the set up layer then sprinkle the mica on. Then right away I pour on the 2nd layer. I've done it that way for at least 2 years and have not had any separation issues.
But of course now that I've said that I've had no issues, I've jinxed myself and will have horrible problems next time

Thanks Jenny!

I let the 1st layer set & then I sprinkle the mica then I spritz the alcohol and pour.

I need to spritz first, mica next & pour!

I will try this!

This sounds right!

Thanks,

einnoc
