Teach Soap

I have found that many manufacturers who gives list of ingredients of their m&p soap base writes there that in soap base is 25-50% water, still the soap base is rigid(suffered/hard/solid - I don't know exact translation for this term).
If I left that much water in my soap, I got very soft/creamly soap. Do anyone know are they use some chemical to get such hardness?

There is nothing that I know of that would make MP soap base harder. You could add beeswax, but you would loose bubbles.

Maybe they mean that was the percentage of water used in the manufacturing process - like I would use 35% water to make my cold process soap - and not the amount of water that is left in the finished soap, which I imagine would be 0%.
