Teach Soap

I am a total newbie when it comes to soaping. I have began with the melt and pour bases. I am having fun with it I am making samples for family and friends to see if there is a market here in Southeast Tx. My problem is I don't have any brown colorant for one so I tried to make a brown the first time I made it turned out a purplish hue. IDK what I did wrong. Secondly I tried making tan as well because I didn't have no colorant like that on hand so one batch turned out pea soup green the other batch turned out mustard yellow. What can I do to fix both of these problems. With that said I am proud of myself I made a really beauitful toasted colored for the almond biscotti soap the next batch and one for shea that was a few shades lighter.

For brown, it takes green and red, with maybe a titch of black. What colors are you using and where did they come from?

I do have those colors I didn't get these colors from Brambleberry I bought them from Hobby Lobby in the soaping department. I have red and green and I have to mix them in a bowl so I can see what shade they turn out.

Craft store colors will most likely bleed. This might be ok if you are making soap with just one color throughout.

I bought those colors when I first tried MP and they definitely bleed and they fade very quickly.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

As I get more in depth on making soap I will be buying better quality colors to make my soap with but considering I am just starting to play around with soaping and see if I can get it going I don't have a lot of money all the time so I will order when I can. But believe me next time I will be ordering more colorant from Brambleberry.

Thank you so much this will help out so much. I found I am really enjoying soaping. I want to eventually upgrade and began making cold pour soap. I don't feel I am ready for that just yet.
