Hi everyone,
Sorry I keep asking so many questions!
I'm having trouble with BB's clear base. I'm trying to make eraser embed bars, and I can't seem to get the clear to stay clear, like in Soap Queen's video! As soon as it hits 130 F, it starts forming bits of skin around the edges of the measuring cup, even as I'm stirring it. Then these bits of skin never melt back into the soap, so when I pour, there's weird skin strips in the soap that are very visible in the finished product. And it sets up sooo fast (much faster than the white base, IMO). I wanted it to cool a little more, since I am doing layers, but by the time it hits ~126 F it has gelled and gone gloppy and I have to reheat and start all over again.
I cool my white base (also from BB) down to 120 and under, and have no problem with it staying smooth and liquid. I feel like I have tried everything from reading past posts - I microwave at 50% power, take it out when there are still chunks, stirred, not stirred, etc.
What am I doing wrong?
