Teach Soap

Hi everyone, I want to know if you can do the Column Swirling with MP Soap? and What type of problems would you have with it? Thanks.

You would have to work VERY fast because unlike cold process soap, MP will start to solidify sooner then CP soap.

I saw a tutorial once where someone used a piece of card to separate the two halves of a loaf mould while pouring. They also poured both colours at the same time, so that the pressure would remain the same both sides of the card. (ie Ask friend to lend you extra pair of hands!). Then once poured, they removed the card and swirled it a bit. Looked good. Not sure whether this kind of technique would work for a column, but might be worth a shot!

I've had little success with this, but it's a shorter column. I find the tall column and MP just aren't a great combo. The MP is too liquid, with CP it's much easier. So I used about a 3" column and it was so-so but the temperature control is crucial for it not to bleed and blend into each other and end up with an blended colour soap. Good fun to try though
