Hello all,

I am quite a new soaper and this is my first post!

I have had a couple of requests from my family to make a coconut soap. I have got a SLS free base and wonsered if it was possible to add coconut milk to this along my my fragrance? If so, what quantatities for 1L mold and would it have a shorter shelf life?

Thanks in advance
Emma

Coconut milk is a liquid and water based. I would only use maybe 1 TBS for 2.2 kilos. otherwise it will make your soap soft. Use a coconut fragrance instead.

there is also powdered coconut milk, which you would use 1 TBSP for one lb of soap.

Hi

Thanks very much for all your help. The reaon I wanted to put coconut milk into the soap was for theraputic properties rather than for scent.
I am also going to add a coconut scent. Does this sound like a good plan or is coconut milk not really a beneficial thing to add?

Thanks

Soap is a wash off product. I don't think you will get much benefit in adding it in such a small amount. Give it a try....
