I put a blue liquid colouring (non bleed brite from Aussie Soap Supplies) tried to 'swirl' it ie. not mix it throughly so I get some pattern and it looked ok whilst pouring but when unmoulded the blue had just sank to the bottom.

They are still pretty soaps and it 'almost' looks like I meant them to come out that way (ie. blue detail on the top). If I knew how to get a pic up I would...

So that's obviously not how to swirl! Gee, they smell good though (Lettuce!)

Did you just add the straight color into the soap? If you did, the blue non bleeding liquid is probably an oxide in liquid glycerin. Liquid glycerin is heavier than the soap base and will drop out or fall to the bottom.

An easier way to swirl with MP is to color two different colors into your MP. Stir, stir, stir until the soap is just about to set up and *then* do the swirl. The soap will be thick enough to hold the swirl. =)

Yes, you definitely need to wait until the MP is pretty thick. It can be very tricky... took me quite a few tries before I was able to do it!
