Teach Soap

Hey everyone! I've been quiet here because I've been busy experimenting and making stuff...and I got a new puppy! YAY! Aaaanyway, question for you: Do the Neons from Brambleberry have to be diluted in glycerin or will alcohol work too? (No glycerin on me right now and my BB supplies are waiting for me at my house and I won't be able to drive home from work fast enough. Ha!)

Hi, FairyCute! I don't really have an answer for you since I haven't worked with the neons myself, but I am curious about this, too. BB says that mixing with glycerin or oil is the best way, but I would think that rubbing alcohol should work for M&P. The description for the neons say that they are oil-based, but I thought all pigments were. (I might be wrong about that.)

I would think that you could also mix some of the pigment into your fragrance oil, too, to work out the clumps.

Hopefully someone who has worked with the neons can offer more insight. Congrats on the new puppy!

I ended up getting a bottle of glycerin at Target pharmacy last night...while I was buying rubber gloves for my husband. No wonder the staff looked at me strangely. LOL The two are unrelated, I swear.

I'll give the glycerin a try this weekend. I don't really know how much to use and I don't remember from Soapyloves webcast recently. So I'll experiment and let you know how it turns out.

I forgot that 2 of the neons are lip safe. Not sure I could get away with bright bright BRIGHT lip balm though.

Another question on the Neons. I just saw the latest blog post on SoapQueen.com () and am now wondering if you can pre-mix the neons with glycerin and store them in bottles as shown. I'm wondering if you need a preservative. Anyone know?

I saw that this morning too. The colors are super and I like the fact that you can use them for CP as well.
