Depending how much soap you rebatch and how old the soap shreds are, you will need only about 1 TBS of liquid per pound of soap.

Hi Armi,

I really enjoyed the learning side of it so dont be sorry for me! I thought it was very funny that in sheer desperation I added salt. I did think of you when I was doing it - it was very funny and went exactly like the mp salt bar in consistency - which is why I thought I had made it work!

The next rebatch for me looks to be doing well, its very smooth, I added the gratings into the bullet mixer and it has melted down really smoothly. The tiny bar (I only used 2 cups of grated soap this time around!) is now drying as I type.

I will keep you posted on how it goes.

Thanks for your reply, I feel much better knowing other people have also had trouble. Its pretty funny though looking back at it. Especially after I added the salt and it was setting as fast as the salt bar and you put yours in the oven :lol:

I didnt even think of that, I just wanted to suck that moisture out fast!

Hope you are well, its raining here - so hopefully the dams are getting more water for our coming summer. Drought year number 9 for us.

BB rebatch bases are pretty freshly made and therefore do not require much water at all. The first time I used it I did not add any at all and it came out just fine!
