I have a scent I would like to use is in my soap. I do not know if it is for soap use or not. It just says phthalate free. What does this mean? The website has many other scents that say the same thing. Is it okay? Some other scents say "do not use for personal care" which in my mind wasn't for soaps and such. Would it say this if it wasn't okay? Is it okay because it didn't say that?

Phthalate free doesn't mean that it's soap safe. I would contact the vendor and ask. Some candle only fragrances can be pthalate free also. Here is more info for you from the FDA. http://www.fda.gov/Cosmetics/Productand ... 128250.htm
