Hi Soap Gardener -

Have you tried making transparent soap, a la ? I've done it several times and while it's certainly not as clear or easily remeltable as commercial melt and pour, it's definitely a good start.

I'm not sure exactly what special combo of ingredients companies like Stephenson or SFIC use to make melt and pour easily remeltable like heat, but based on my experimenting with the Catherine Faiolor method, I suspect I could get somewhat close.

That said, the involves 100 proof alcohol and is a major fire hazard so I think I'll leave MP soapmaking to the experts with the 25,000 foot warehouses full of machinery and decades of soapmaking knowledge.

I am not an experienced soaper but I have tried several bases. Craft store brand, Stephenson's,SFIC, and a few others. SFIC is my favorite.
